This is a very sensitive subject when it comes to musicians. I personally do not read music very well and I have a long way to go before I can call myself proficient at it. That being said, it is something that I continue to work on. I continue to work on it because I want to master my instrument. This may never happen, but I am loving my journey so much that I can’t turn down any type of education that is related to the bass guitar.

Guitar Tablature vs Standard Musical Notation
In the next video, Thomas Michaud gives a brief explanation of the pro’s and con’s of tablature and musical notation.
Tab Vs Standard Notation
Consonus Music Institute talks about the benefits of tablature and how to use it to make the transition to standard notation a little easier. I personally like this approach. Use tablature as a stepping stone until you get to where you want to be in reading musical notation. There is a time and place for both, and both is where I want to be.
